A KIND OF FIRST FRUITS
Romans 8:16 “The Spirit itself (Himself) beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Knowing that you are truly a child of God is where life really starts. The very day you accepted the lordship of Jesus Christ, you were born of God; you originated from Him, you proceeded from Him. Reading from the book of James:
James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
Lets take it from the Amplified version: Jas.1.18 And it was of His own [free] will that He gave us birth [as sons] by [His] Word of Truth, so that we should be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures [a sample of what He created to be consecrated to Himself]. (AMP)
You don’t have to feel you are saved before you know it. It is not a feeling, Salvation, it is by faith: faith in Jesus Christ, faith in the Word of God.
When you are saved, the Holy Spirit abides in you for ever.
The Holy Spirit bears witness in our hearts that we are children of God. If you are saved, you know that-you know that-you know that-you know that you are saved. It is an inner knowing; it is a spiritual something. 1 John 5:12 “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”
