BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT YOUR SPIRITUAL GROWTH
1Pet.2.2 Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation, (AMP)
The Word of God is the material for your spiritual growth. Without the Word of God, you cannot grow into the full experience of your salvation. Many people neglect the Word of God and think they would find solutions everywhere else apart from God’s Word.
I love what the Bible says in the book of Proverbs. Prov.30.5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” (KJV) Another translation says, “Every Word of God proves true…” Jesus said in the gospel according to Saint John, the seventeenth chapter and in the seventeenth verse: John.17.17 “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” (NIV) Showing us that the Word of God is true, this means we can completely rely on the Word of God.
While it is not bad to get into the Bible for solutions to your problems, do not make it your habit to only take your Bible for quick fixes. You must become strong and fortified by the Word. Life is spiritual and you cannot afford to be weak in the Spirit. You must strive persistently and relentlessly to grow spiritually and take responsibility for your life and for the lives of others.
