Genesis 13:2 “And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.”
I do not know the kind of people in the Bible you want to be like but for me, one of the people in the Bible I want to be like is Abraham, the father of faith.
The reason I want to be like him is simple, God was pleased with Abraham and even called him His Friend!
Isaiah 41:8 “But thou, Israel, art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.”
James 2:23 “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”
Having understood that Abraham walked closely with God and became God’s friend, I definitely want to be like him.
There’s something I want you to observe closely from our opening scripture. The Bible didn’t say, “…Abram was rich..” rather, “… Abram was very rich.”
This is astonishing, it literally means that Abram (later Abraham), was more than a multi billionaire in his day.
His habits are clear from the scriptures; among them are, he was diligent, he was hard working, he walked in love and in faith, he was strong and courageous, he paid his tithe (he was a giver), he pursued God’s plan for his life.
