CHOOSE TO BE IDENTIFIED WITH CHRIST – Part One (1).
Acts 5:28-29
[28]Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us. [29]Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
The question from the 28th verse of the scripture above was asked by the high priest, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,). This was after they threatened the Apostles never to preach the gospel, never to mention the name of Jesus Christ.
The Apostles however refused to heed to their warnings and went on preaching Jesus Christ. After they locked the Apostles in prison, an angel of the Lord took them out miraculously and told them to go and teach God’s people the Word of God.
The high priest and the Sadducees after they have found out that the Apostles were not in the prison were they kept them but were free and continued preaching the gospel, they(the high priest and the Sadducees) were filled with indignation.
