Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Growing up, I have always wanted to live a prosperous life. I know what poverty is like, I know very well the effects of poverty. It is something I have experienced and it is not a good thing at all. But thank God – I walked out from the bondage of poverty.
Our theme verse throws light on the fact that good health and prosperity is a good thing. What kind of a God will we be serving who hates good health and prosperity? I will not serve a God like that.
We are in harmony with God because of our faith in Jesus Christ; to live above sin, sicknesses and poverty. Darkness is certainly not a good thing neither it’s products: sins, sicknesses and diseases, depression and poverty; all these are not from God. But how do we live in prosperity and abundance, in good health and in success?
Lets take a scripture from the book of Joshua:
Joshua.1.8 This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. (AMP)
One of the statements that amazes me from this scripture is, “..For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.” The key word there is MAKE …. And the phrase there is “..you shall make your way prosperous…” This simply means it depends on you. Choose to meditate on the Word. Choose to spend time in prayer.
