CULTIVATING A LIFE OF PRAYER
Col.4.2 Be earnest and unwearied and steadfast in your prayer [life], being [both] alert and intent in [your praying] with thanksgiving. (AMP)
Almost every time, in church meetings and in fellowship meetings, a lot of people place strong emphasis on prayer and neglect the place of God’s Word. Prayer will not frame your mind or to better put it, it will not renew your mind. For your mind to be renewed, you have to give yourself to the reading of God’s Word daily.
So then, prayer comes after the right knowledge of God’s Word. Now, in cultivating a life of prayer, you must make your decision to constantly pray whether you feel like it or not because you are not going to feel like praying most of the times.
But the Bible says: “Be earnest and unwearied and steadfast in your prayer [life], being [both] alert and intent in [your praying] with thanksgiving.” Set reminders for your prayer times. Make plans to pray and carry them out. No matter what happens, press forward in prayer. Just keep pressing forward!
If for whatever reason you couldn’t pray on a particular day or time, re-fix that day and time and fight to pray. By all means fight to pray and when you are praying, fix your mind on the Word of God.
