James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
Many times in our lives, different circumstances will try to provoke us to react in ungodly ways. Sometimes even friends may act in an unpleasant way and their actions may tempt you to speak hurtful words.
Do not react to peoples foolishness rather, respond in wisdom and make the right decisions from the Word of God in your spirit.
Instead of allowing people and circumstances dictate your state of being, condition yourself with the Word of God to always act from inspiration of the Spirit of God.
Pay attention to what is good and edifying. Refuse to give ear to what is offensive and irritating. Do not listen to people or give your attention to people and the voices of situations that discourage you.
When it has to do with something that builds you, or something that edifies you; be swift to hear. Be swift to hear any voice that builds your faith.
Be slow to speak when negative people are around you and are irritating you. Be slow to speak when you have foolish people making nasty comments about you.
Train yourself not to take offense to be point where you act from bitterness with the intention to harm someone or people who irritate you.
