DON’T CHOOSE “BARABBAS”
Matt.27.17 So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, “Which one do you want me to release to you: Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” (NIV)
Even though in the original counsel of God, He predestined that Jesus should be the Savior of the world and that we should conform to the image of the Christ, the very act of the people rejecting Jesus was wrong.
In your life, every time there’s a decision to make, you either choose the part that will glorify God or you choose “Barabbas.” Choosing “Barabbas” in this case is choosing the path that will not bring glory to God.
Get your choices right. Choose the kind of life the Word of God affirms for every child of God. Your life must go in the direction that God chose for you even before you were born. Lets read a very striking verse from Deuteronomy:
Deuteronomy 30:19
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
To choose Barabbas is to choose death! To choose life is to choose to walk in the Word of God. Choose therefore the Word of God; choose to do things that bring glory to God. Do not choose Barabbas, meaning, don’t choose sin.
