DON’T GROW WEARY IN PRAYER
1 Thessalonians 5:17
[17]Pray without ceasing.
Never get tired of praying even if you are not seeing the results immediately. After the Prophet Elijah locked the heavens and held the clouds not to give rain, he unlocked the heavens to give rain again. But how he unlocked the heavens is what I want to share with you.
He went with his servant (disciple) to pray. As he prayed, he asked his disciple to look out for a sign of rain, (whether the clouds were forming).
The first time, there was not sign. The second time, there was no sign. The third time, there was no sign! Ha, but he kept pressing in praying; praying fervently, effectual and with all his heart! Fourth time, there was no rain. Ha, but didn’t give up still.
First time, his servant reported to him again, “no sign.” Ei, but this man won’t stop! Sixth time, and still there was no sign of rain! He didn’t start crying and lamenting to God and blaming Him. He understood the power of prayer. Because, he knew that if he would press, God will not resist – he pressed and pressed until something happened.
Lets find out tomorrow what happened after he didn’t give up.
