EXERCISING YOUR SPIRIT

1Tim.4.8 For physical training is of some value (useful for a little), but godliness (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come. (AMP)
Exercising your body is important. Practice exercising your body in order to keep yourself fit. You must take good care of your body. You are the custodian or the keeper of your body. You must therefore ensure that your body is fit; a fit body can house a fit mind but when your body is not fit, your mind will not be fit too.
In as much as it is important to exercise ourselves physically, it only has some little value compared with the exercising of our spirits.
Exercising your spirit (spiritual training) is useful and of value in everything and in every way, for it holds promise for the present life and also for the life which is to come.

How to exercise your spirit;

1. Through meditation: you must spend time meditating on the Word of God. When you do this, you take the shape of God’s Word.
2. Through Prayer: Whenever we pray in the Spirit, we are being charged, strengthened, edified and built!
3. Fasting: Fasting is a very powerful tool in the realm of the spirit. It is like a catalyst, it speeds up “chemical reactions”
4. Study of God’s Word: This is also very important. Get deep in the Word!
