FUNCTION IN THE NAME OF JESUS – PART ONE
Philippians 2:10 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”
When we were children, we used to sing a particular song though it sounds good, it was biblically wrong. It goes like this, “Covenant keeping God, there is no one like you. You are the Alpha and Omega, there’s no one like you. At the mention of your name, every knew must bow..”
Where the problem which I am addressing in this devotional was is in, “At the mention of your name, every knew must bow…” Read our opening scripture again. It never said that, “…at the mention of the name Jesus..” It says, “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”
The point is, you don’t have to necessarily mention the name Jesus to get things done or to solve problems. But once you are born again, you are in Christ. Now, when there is a situation, whatever you say by the Spirit of God is backed by the power in the name of Jesus.
This does not mean you should not mention the name or mentioning the name of Jesus is wrong. I am teaching you the most excellent way of communicating the Word of God.
