GOODNESS AND MERCY FOLLOWS YOU!
3 John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
Kind David in the Bible had a consciousness of prosperity. Not many have come to the realization that God desires for them to prosper and be in health. King David made many striking statements in Psalms 23, lets consider three verses:
Psalms 23:1 “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Ah, how can a man make such a striking declaration. How can you say you shall not want? What he was actually saying is that, “I have all I need.” Mine, mine, mine!! Wow!
Okay, lets consider another verse of scripture from verse 2:
Psalms 23:2“He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
He also knew and was conscious of the fact that God will cause him to be satisfied with all the good things he will ever need in his life. Lying down in green pastures means prospering in every area of your life.
Finally: Psalms 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”
Did you notice the word surely? This is stirring! He so much grew in his understanding of God’s will for him to prosper to the point where he declared with certainty that nothing else but goodness and mercy shall follow him. This is how God wants us to think!
