HOW TO GROW IN GRACE
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
As God’s child, you do not have to pray to Him for Him to increase the grace upon your life. The construction of our opening scripture is very clear, it states emphatically that : “… grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever…” It will be inappropriate to pray asking God to grow your grace.
There is something you must do according to this scripture in order to increase your faith: you must increase in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Your life will become more glorious if you learn this simple rule of increasing your grace. Once you come to the understanding that the power to increase your faith is within your reach, you will become poised to growing radically in grace.
God wants you to enlarge your capacity. He wants you to wax greater. In order for you to increase the grace that’s operational in your life, you must increase and build yourself: getting to know God more and more. The more you get to know Him, the more you become exposed to who you really are: you were made in His image, after His likeness.
In 2 Peter.1.2 the Bible says: “May grace (God ‘s favor) and peace (which is perfect well-being, all necessary good, all spiritual prosperity, and freedom from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts) be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. (AMP)” Reading the same scripture from the King James translation: 2Pet.1.2
Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, (KJV) So you see, grace is multiplied through knowledge. Knowing that God’s grace in your life is multiplied through knowledge: you must study like never before.
