MONEY IS NOT THE EMPHASIS – Part 2

3 John 1:2 “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”

Let’s read the Bible’s testimony about money and see whether it’s good or bad: Ecclesiastes 10:19 “A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh merry: but money answereth all things.” Read it again.

There was no single place in the Bible where God attacked money but when we preach prosperity what’s the emphasis? The emphasis is this: “…even as thy soul prospereth.”

The emphasis is enriching the hearts of the new creation with the very Word of God which has the all round prosperity power. In other words, what we are saying is: Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Now, anyone who will enrich his heart with the Word of God will inevitably prosper in everything he does. As we see in God’s Word that He wants us to prosper and have good success: Joshua 1:8 “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
