PREACH THE WORD – Part 1
2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
Not many people know that they can preach the Word of God to themselves. As a child of God, in as much as you supposed to preach the Word of God to others, you should also preach it to yourself.
Though from the scripture above Apostle Paul was instructing Timothy who was a leader in the church, a Bishop, to preach the Word to God’s people – by extension, the Holy Spirit is communicating to us to preach the Word.
Preaching the Word of God to yourself is a form of meditation. Practice it every day, you can do it any time, any where. You can take for example 1 John 5:4
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
Then you begin to preach to yourself, “I am born of God because I have confessed Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour, therefore I have overcome the world (death, sicknesses, failures and poverty etc).”
