SAMUEL NASAM
REFUSE TO SINK IN LIFE
1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
Sometimes you will find yourself shedding tears and or crying profusely in certain circumstances. Tears does not show defeat, that why we even have tears of joy.
Sometimes people even laugh to the point where tears begin to drop from their eyes. But let us say you found yourself in a difficult situation and tears run down your cheek, it doesn’t mean you have been defeated.
From our opening verse, we read how king David encouraged himself in the Lord but I will like us to read verse 4 of the same chapter: 1 Samuel 30:4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
There was a challenge and after they wept, until they had no more power to weep, David encouraged himself in the Lord.
After David encouraged himself in the Lord, he enquired of the Lord what he should do and this happened: 1 Samuel 30:7-8 “[7] And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. [8] And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. “
Rely on the help of the Holy Ghost and you will never be defeated in life.
