RULING OVER YOUR BODY
1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Life in the Spirit is serious business. God has given us the ability to handle anything in our lives successfully. We have the power to dictate to our body how it should respond to the circumstances of life and how it should cooperate with our feelings.
It is true that many Christians are confused about how to handle their flesh. Sometimes, people become angry at themselves for what the feel. But you should never be angry at yourself for feeling anyway no matter the feelings and what they are directed towards.
This is simply because you have the power to re-direct your feelings. Apostle Paul in our opening verse stated that: “…I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
You can also keep your body under subjection and live above your feelings. Amazingly, you don’t have to pray to God to take those feelings away from you.
Notice Apostle Paul didn’t say he will pray to God to put his (Apostle Paul’s) body under subjection. He didn’t even say God keeps his (Apostle Paul’s) body under subjection rather he said: “…I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection…” How? By renewing your mind with the Word of God always and by speaking in tongues every now and then.
Just soak yourself in the Word, wisdom will flow through you and you will know exactly what to do.
