THE POWER AT WORK IN YOU – PART 2

Ephesians 3.20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, (NIV)

We understood from yesterday’s devotional that the Holy Spirit is not a dove but “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him.” (NIV)

Likewise, He is not fire or wind. If you read carefully the book of Acts chapter two, verses one to four in particular, you will realize that the description of how the Holy Spirit arrived and the subsequent manifestation does not particularly define His person.

Let’s read: Acts.2.1 – “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Acts.2.2 – Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. Acts.2.3 – They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. Acts.2.4 – All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

Read carefully so that you don’t miss what the Bible is communicating. The manner in which the Holy Spirit arrived was described like this: “Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.” It didn’t say the Holy Spirit is wind.
