UNDERSTANDING RIGHTEOUSNESS – PART THREE
Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Continuing from part one and two: when Jesus was crucified on the cross, we were crucified with Him (our old self was crucified with Him).
When He died, we died with Him (our old self died with Him). When He was raised to life by the glory of the Father, we were raised up together with Him (we are born again now).
Now, old things (the old man and his things) are passed away [in other words you are no longer a sinner] and all things are become new, glory to God!
Romans 6:1-4
[1]What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
[2]God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
[3]Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
[4]Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Some people make the mistake of thinking that we are licensing Christians to sin when we teach on the truth concerning our righteous stand in Christ but that’s foolishness on their part. I mean, the devil has deceived them to them to think that they are still sinners (slaves to him).
No, you think about it: what in the world is good about being a sinner? It isn’t humility to think of yourself what God has not said about you. If you are in Christ, God thinks you are perfectly righteous just like Jesus (because that’s what Jesus came to accomplish), is it not interesting that people want to challenge God? God says you are righteous but they tell you no.
