WHAT TO DO WHEN LIFE GETS HARD
1 Samuel 30:6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
Truly, life will get hard someday for everyone. The Bible shows us that we all will go through the difficulties of life. You at some point nothing will make any meaning to you but stay firm in God’s Word.
Reading from the book of Isaiah 43:2 “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”
The NLT puts it this way: Isa.43.2 “When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.” (NLT)
Sometimes tears may flow down your cheek because of the pain you may be experiencing while making progress in life. Not many people understand though but challenges are good. If the Bible says I should count it all joy when I go through diverse kinds of trials then I believe they must be good.
It is comforting to know that: “…When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown!…” Jesus made a massive comforting statement: John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” Believe therefore that you will not be drowned when you go through the difficulties of life.
