SAMUEL NASAM

WHAT IT MEANS TO WORK OUT YOUR SALVATION

Philippians 2:12

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Working out your salvation does not mean doing something in order for God to save you. You are saved not because of what you do but because of your faith in Jesus Christ. Stay with me here, understand this scripture:

Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” So, salvation is a gift. It is not something we work for. The reason we go to church, give our tithes and offerings, preach the gospel is not so that we will be saved. They are things we do because we are saved. We do them because we are saved not to be saved.

Now, working out your salvation is bringing to bare the precious package you received when you got born again. And it is amazing that it is God that works in us to will and to do according to His good pleasure. Philippians 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Working out your salvation basically means following the leading of the Spirit and you have to Study God’s Word to know His mind and spend time in prayer to be fortified inside to do what the Spirit wills.
