[17]Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
When I was in primary school, I heard my teachers say; “show me your friend and I will tell you who you are.” I did not understand it then, (primary 3) but as I progressed, I got it.
You see, in this life, it matters who your friend(s) is(are). You must be very wise by walking in the Word of God. Those who do the Word of God are the wise ones according to God’s curriculum. The best way to find a true friend who will sharpen you is to look out with the eyes of the Word.
Make your choices by looking through the Word-lense, meaning; by letting the Word of God guide your desires. The first time I heard, “your friend(s) can make or unmake you” I thought it wise to stick to the Word and get friends who are Word addict – friends who are burning for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Let the Word of Christ dwell in your heart richly by focusing on the Word daily, when you do this, the necessary wisdom you will need to make the right decisions about anything in your life including choosing friends will be activated in your spirit.
