Colossians 3:2
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Yesterday, we learnt that we live in the city of the living God.
If you read carefully yesterday, you would have noticed that the Bible didn’t say we will go to mount Zion. It is not a futuristic statement. It is a present tense reality. It says, Heb.12.22 But rather, you have come to Mount Zion, even to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless multitudes of angels in festal gathering, (AMP)
Now that you are presently in God’s City, you ought to set your affections on those things that matter to Him. You are in Christ because you are a new creation, therefore, behold the new things in this City. Open your eyes and look into the Word of God to see your new realities, to get renewed in your mind to live the life He has purposed for you to live before the foundation of the world.
Spend quality time in prayer as you constantly meditate on the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand who you are in Christ, what you have and your responsibilities. He will help you know Jesus Christ more and more as you continue in prayer and in the ministry of the Word.
