YOU ARE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD
2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
You are the exact representation of God. You have His very nature; you have His life – that’s what it means to say you are made the righteousness of God.
Some people find it difficult to understand that they are righteous or they have the Life of God. The moment you accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ, you are made the righteousness of God. That’s because, Jesus Christ, who never sinned; was completely righteous, took your place and died on the cross of Calvary for you. In other words, He was your “substitute” – when He was crucified you were crucified in Him, when He was buried you were buried together in Him, when He defeated Satan you defeated Satan together in Him and glory to God – you were raised up together with Him by the glory of the Father.
That’s why you should live righteously – because, you are righteous. You are first righteous to live a righteous life. It is not as if you have to live a righteous life or do good things before you can become righteous, no! Just as you are first a human being to live as a human being, the same way you are first righteous to live a righteous life. Live for Jesus Christ and you will never regret it.
