FEARLESS FAITH: 10 WAYS TO UNLOCK YOUR POTENTIAL AS A STRONG CHRISTIAN.

To be a Christian is like declaring war between yourself and the devil.

Because of this, you can’t live your life anyhow as a Christian; you must develop a stronger relationship with God.

Below are 10 different ways you can become a strong Christian.

Cultivate a deep prayer life.

Matthew 6:33; “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you”

Prayer is essential for a strong Christian life. It’s how we communicate with God, share our thoughts and feelings, and seek guidance and strength.

Make prayer a priority, just like Jesus did in Luke 5:16; “And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed”

Study the Bible regularly

2 Timothy 2:15; “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”

The Bible is our guide, comfort, and wisdom. Reading and studying it helps us understand God’s character, His plans for us, and how to live a godly life.

Be diligent in your study, like the Bereans in Acts 17:11; “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so”

Surround yourself with godly community.

Hebrews 10:24-25;

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”

Being part of a supportive community is vital for growth and encouragement.

Find a church family where you can worship, serve, and fellowship with others who share your values like in Acts 2:42-47;

“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

44 And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”

Practice forgiveness and love

Matthew 5:44; “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”

Forgiveness and love are hallmarks of a strong Christian.

Let go of grudges and resentments, and choose to love others as God loves you as in written in Ephesians 4:32; “And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

Trust in God’s sovereignty

Romans 8:28; “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

God is in control, even when circumstances seem chaotic.

Trust that He works everything for good (Romans 8:28) and rest in His sovereignty.

Share the Gospel with others

Matthew 28:19-20; “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

As a strong Christian, you’re called to share the Good News with others.

Be bold and enthusiastic in your witness, just like the early disciples in Acts 4:20; “For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.”

Live a life of obedience

John 14:15; “If ye love me, keep my commandments”

Obedience demonstrates our love for God and our commitment to following Jesus (John 14:15). Seek to honor Him in every aspect of your life.

Find strength in weakness

2 Corinthians 12:9-10; “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong”

God’s power is perfected in our weaknesses (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Embrace your limitations and rely on His strength.

Armor yourself with spiritual disciplines

Ephesians 6:10-18; “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

Develop habits like fasting, meditation, and worship to help you stay spiritually alert and prepared for battle (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Fix your eyes on eternity

Colossians 3:2; “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

Remember that this life is temporary, and our true citizenship is in heaven according to Philippians 3:20; “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:”

Keep an eternal perspective and live accordingly. Colossians 3:2.

Below are some Biblical bases to build your faith on so you can attain that level of a strong faith.

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)

“God is your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

May these reminders and Bible verses inspire you to grow stronger in your faith!
