Family of Late Gospel Singer, Jake, Urges Public to Refrain from Speculation on His Death
The family of Jacob Yaw Mawulo Adjola, popularly known as Jake, has issued a statement appealing to the public to be sensitive when sharing information about his passing.
Reports of suspected suicide have been circulating on social media, and the family has requested that the public allow the police to conduct their investigation without interference.
Jake, a member of the non-denominational music group Higher Praise Inc., passed away on Sunday, shortly after performing with his group on Saturday. News of his death spread quickly on social media, with speculation surrounding the cause of his passing.
In a statement signed by Susan Adjola, Jake’s sister, the family acknowledged the police investigation into his death and pleaded with the public to refrain from spreading unsubstantiated information.

“The Police is currently investigating the matter, both the alleged letter and the accident, and we plead with you all to allow the investigations to take their due course,” the statement read.
The family revealed that the police will also investigate the authenticity of a letter allegedly written by Jake, which has been circulating on social media. Interestingly, the family mentioned that Jake had been struggling with personal issues since 2022.
