MY ALMOST TEN YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY – JEMDA
Young minister, when you start your ministry do your best for God by not being disappointed that people are not ready to sponsor your music recordings. These are part of the reasons why some gems in the North got stucked after their first albums.
I started looking for sponsorship as early as 2010, it was a difficult journey. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any help from all the individuals , businesses and companies I approached. (Names withheld).
I started by using my own little savings to record Oneela kumni at a studio I found in Cape Coast. At that time, because of the financial inadequacy I was OK with the work the sound Engineer did.
I showed it to my husband when he came to visit me on campus, then he said this is a good song it can be better than this. With the help of some good brothers I had at the time. Constructive criticisms were given and my husband decided to partner with me to record and launch the first album .

Why am I saying all these, I took a step to use my little resources to do something for myself, then God touched someone’s heart to help me push it. Some people in the South get these opportunities for sponsorship from others because those there understand this ministry more than those of us in the North here.
Until recently, that I have started seeing some people show interest after discussing with them about my beautiful songs I need help to record. It has always been our hustle to get the songs done.
*The point I am trying to make is that, people invest or support what is already working* .
It’s my prayer that as you all make your little efforts to record your songs, God will touch the hearts of his children to come to your aid so that you don’t go through what we have gone through with sponsorships.
Keep saving the little you have, one day God will surely send a helper.
