Bishop Eddy Addy, one of the most humble successful pastors in Ghana and a Bishop in the UD-OLGC(United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches), in a virtual message on giving advised that people should learn how to give and give more.
As part of this message, he admonished journalist or media owners to stop hitting out at pastors and respect their work or let them be.
Quoting Luke 6:38, and centering his message on it, he stated ” learn to be a giver, giving is the key to unlock supernatural provisions. Jesus taught us to give”.
Taking on this same scripture he stated that if you don’t give how do you expect people to give unto your bosom.
Citing media for instance, he mentioned the owner of Net2 TV, MP for Assin Central, Honourable Kennedy Agyapong to stop such harsh attacks on pastors.
He stated that if he wants to collect people’s money, then pastoring wouldn’t have been the work he will resort to.
He cited that if the media thinks pastors collects money from people, aren’t they also collecting money from people? Taking for instance, when they publish news papers they sell it to people. If you go to advertise on TV they charge you, the journalist sitting there expect to be paid at the month, everything you need to do on the TV, you’re expected to pay for it. Why are they now thinking pastors exploit people for monies, when actually that is their work also.
He also stated that, he for instance is helping people in this time of Corona Virus Pandemic through his work. He encourages them in their depressed state, showing them that there is power with God that can help the world.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong said he is bound to ‘expose’ pastors ‘hiding’ behind the titled to deceive people.
